Disclosure under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions

This page contains the disclosures required of distance sellers under Japan’s Act on Specified Commercial Transactions (特定商取引法第11条). Courses that run for more than two months at a fee above ¥50,000 — Foundation 150 among them — are also specified continuous services (特定継続的役務提供), which carry the further rights set out under Cancellation below.

Course fees are shown on the Pricing page and confirmed before enrolment. Foundation 150: ¥198,000–¥398,000 depending on class format.

Additional charges商品代金以外の必要料金

We do not charge any additional fees. Learners are responsible for their own internet connection and any bank or currency-conversion fees.

Payment methodsお支払い方法

Credit card, PayPal, Wise, or bank transfer. Card and PayPal payments are taken in the currency shown at checkout; for Wise and bank transfers, any transfer or currency-conversion fee charged by your own bank or provider is yours to pay, and the amount we receive has to be the full course fee.

Payment timingお支払い時期

After the consultation and any trial lesson, once a course and a start date have been agreed. We send an invoice and the enrolment documents together; payment is due within 14 days of the invoice, and before the first lesson. Enrolment is confirmed when payment has been received. Nothing is charged for the consultation or the trial lesson.

Service delivery役務の提供時期

Lessons begin on the start date agreed with the learner after enrolment. Foundation 150 runs 20 weeks (Standard) or 10 weeks (Intensive). Before enrolling you receive a summary of the course and its terms (概要書面), and on enrolment the contract document itself (契約書面); the 8-day cooling-off period runs from the day that second document reaches you.

Cancellation and refunds返品・キャンセル

Before your course starts. You may cancel at any time before the first lesson. We refund the full fee less a cancellation charge of up to ¥15,000.

Within 8 days of enrolling (cooling-off · クーリング・オフ). For a course of more than two months costing more than ¥50,000, you may cancel in writing within 8 days of receiving your enrolment documents and pay nothing at all. We refund everything you have paid, and we do not charge for lessons already taken in that period.

After your course starts (mid-term cancellation · 中途解約). You may stop at any time, for any reason. You pay for the lessons already given, plus a cancellation charge of the lower of ¥50,000 or 20% of the fee for the lessons remaining. Everything else is refunded.

Lessons we cancel. If we cancel a lesson and cannot reschedule it, that lesson is refunded in full.

These are the rights given by the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions for specified continuous services, and nothing on this page reduces them.
